Peri vs Menopause

Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the hormonal transition leading up to menopause — and it often begins in a woman’s late 30s or 40s, sometimes earlier. During this phase, estrogen and progesterone fluctuate unpredictably, which can cause symptoms long before periods stop.

You might notice heavier or irregular cycles, anxiety that feels new or amplified, disrupted sleep, brain fog, low libido, weight changes, headaches, or mood shifts that don’t feel like “you.” Many women are told their labs are “normal” — but fluctuating hormones don’t always show up clearly on standard testing.

Menopause

Menopause is officially diagnosed when you’ve gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. The average age in the United States is 51, but timing varies. After menopause, estrogen and progesterone levels remain consistently low, which can affect nearly every system in the body.

Common symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, sleep disruption, joint pain, memory concerns, and increased risk for bone loss and cardiovascular disease.

What is bioidentical hormone therapy?

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that are chemically identical to those your body naturally produces to help restore balance and relieve symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Treating with bioidentical hormones can be topical, injectable, oral or inserted under the skin in a pellet for long lasting symptom relief. Keep scrolling for more information on pelleting.

Your low maintenance, long-term hormone option

What is hormone pelleting?

Hormone pelleting is a natural, bioidentical approach to hormone optimization that supports your body’s unique rhythm and long-term wellness. Using tiny pellets placed just beneath the skin, this method delivers a steady, consistent release of hormones—most often testosterone or estrogen—over the course of several months. Unlike creams or pills, hormone pelleting helps avoid daily fluctuations and works in harmony with your body’s needs. It’s an ideal option for those seeking sustainable relief from symptoms like low energy, mood changes, brain fog, and hormonal weight gain—while addressing the root cause of imbalance.
